KNAU Insider – November 1st, 2019
This week’s Insider is brought to you by:
Schedule Time Changes
With the change to standard time for nearly all the country on Sunday, KNAU moves for the next few months into our winter schedule.
The Friday schedule to KNAU News/Talk contains the most obvious changes: Fresh Air on Friday will move to 11am while Science Friday will shift back to a noon start. Fresh Air will still be heard at one o’clock Monday through Thursday. A more subtle consequence of the time change will be to 1-A at nine in the morning: For a few months the first hour of the program will be live, so it will be possible to call-in to the program or respond online. Also the Marketplace Morning Report shift to the even hours of Morning Edition.
Poetry Friday: ‘Locked Up: Pain And Resilience’
This week’s segment takes inspiration from an art exhibit currently showing in Flagstaff called Locked Up: Pain and Resilience. The exhibit focuses on problems within the U.S. prison system, and the contributing artists, at some point in their lives, have all done time. Learn more at KNAU.org.
Earth Notes: Halloween Tarantulas
If you’ve been out hiking the last few weeks, you may have seen one of the Colorado Plateau’s scariest-looking residents. Male tarantulas are on the move from late summer through fall, on a quest to find mates. Learn more at KNAU.org.
