Join Ranger John Begay, a Navajo and indigenous tribal member of the area to share his cultural teachings and traditional background. He will also share Native American history going back thousands of years. From the first Paleo-Indians crossing the Bering Strait into the Americas to the present with modern-day tribes still thriving in the southwest.

Sunday, August 19th @ Aspen Loop Trail
8:00 -11:00 a.m. Aspen Loop. Join Volunteer Rangers Rick Ruess and Diana Henry for the alluring, fun and beautiful Aspen Loop Hike. The hike is a moderate 3hour (2.5 mile loop) which connects to the Arizona Trail (AZT). It begins up Snow Bowl road off of the NE corner of the parking lot marked for “Humphreys Trail” just south of Arizona Snow Bowl. This easy trail features spectacular views, meadows of wildflowers, and a variety of trees. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and wear sturdy shoes. Binoculars and poles optional. No dogs, please. We look forward to seeing you on this surprisingly enticing hike!

La caminata es de 3 horas moderadas (bucle de 2.5 millas) que conecta con el sendero de Arizona (AZT). Comienza en el camino de Snow Bowl Rd. en la esquina NE del estacionamiento marcado como “Humphreys Trail” justo al sur de Arizona Snow Bowl.
